Cylinder base, alternatively known as hydraulic base end, or hydraulic cylinder end cap, is categorized based on the connection process into welded base end and assembly base end. Welded base end is to use the welding process to firmly connect the barrel and base end, ensure the tightness and structural strength. In contrast, assembly base end attaches the barrel and cylinder base end through mechanical means, such as bolts, flanges and clasp rings. The cylinder base serves a crucial component for the hydraulic cylinders.  

What does a hydraulic cylinder base end do?

Sealing function: The cylinder base and the cylinder barrel together form a sealed oil chamber to prevent hydraulic oil leakage and ensure the sealing inside the hydraulic cylinder.

Structural support: The cylinder base serves as the bottom seal of the hydraulic cylinder, providing structural support for the cylinder body and enhancing the overall strength and stability of the hydraulic cylinder.

Connection function: The cylinder base is usually connected to the cylinder barrel by threads, bolts, welding or tie rods to ensure the tight fit of the various components of the hydraulic cylinder.

Buffering function: At the end of the stroke of the hydraulic cylinder, the cylinder base can cooperate with the buffer device to slow down the movement speed of the piston and avoid violent collision between the piston and the cylinder head, thereby reducing impact and noise.

Integrated design: The oil port, exhaust valve hole and buffer chamber can also be directly set on the cylinder base to simplify the overall structure of the hydraulic cylinder.
